At long last, the iPad 2 has ceased being a rumour and has become reality at last, with a range of rumours coming true and surprises like full mirroring of what's on the iPad 2's screen finally being able to be sent to an HDTV, albeit via an add-on HDMI connector, giving plenty of great reasons spurn the droids and plonk down the cash for an iUpgrade iNstead!
As expected, Apple has blown the smart covers off its all new singing and dancing iPad 2 loaded with iOS 4.3, announcing that it is thinner, lighter and faster, with two cameras for FaceTime communications, and a choice of "Smart Covers", while still maintaining 10 hours of storage. The only thing missing from the announcement is pricing but we won't have to wait too long because iPad 2 availability is scheduled for most stores outside the US, including Australia on 25 March.
With only hours to go before Apple launches the iPad 2, plenty of unanswered questions await their destiny, including what may be the most intriguing pre-launch question of them all: will Steve Jobs at all be doing the do and launching himself the iPad 2?
So much is still not known about the iPad 2, but plenty is being guessed at by the world's iPrognosticators, all of whom have specific things they want to see, but whether Steve Jobs will let them be is still an unknown unknown.
Although iOS 4.3 was rumoured by many to be arriving in December, complete with some kind of new newspaper subscription facility, the rapidly approaching end of December likely means no iOS 4.3 until 2011 - if we don't skip straight to iOS 5.0 instead.
Apple's iOS 4.2.1 has been eagerly downloaded by millions around the world, eager to enjoy the multifunctional benefits the update brings, while rumours of iOS 4.3 arriving in December won't stop, with jailbreaking hackers also having updated Cydia for 4.2.1 compatibility!
iOS 4.2 has only just arrived, but speculation is rife that iOS 4.3 will be released in mid December.
Apple's iOS 4.2 might be launching tomorrow or not until late November, but there's a suggestion that iPad users might still be getting an update as 4.2 will be the 'first' iOS 4 the iPad has access to and it will probably need an update!
